Audra Mcdonald is unique in her breadth of talent and versatility in her roles as a performer and singer. Audra McDonald who has won six Tony Awards in a row and two Grammy Awards in 2015 was recognized as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people. The president Barack Obama also awarded her the National Medal of Arts -the highest honor in America for achievements in this field. She has a voice of unparalleled beauty, and an ability of dramatizing the truth, her roles in Broadway as well as in opera have the same aplomb like those on film and TV. In addition to her theatre job, she is also pursuing been a busy recording and concert artist. She is regularly performing in the best venues of the world. McDonald is from Fresno California, where she was raised by a family of musicians. At the Juilliard School in New York City, McDonald received training as an classical vocalist. When she graduated, she won her first Tony Award as Best Performance of a Featured Artist musical at the Lincoln Center Theater for Carousel (1994). Then, in 2000, she was a recurring on NBC's popular series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. After receiving the first Emmy nomination for her performance on the HBO film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning show Wit produced by Mike Nichols and starring Emma Thompson McDonald returned on television network in 2003 with the drama about politics Mister Sterling, produced by Emmy Award winner Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. and starring Josh Brolin. McDonald became a character on The Bedford Diaries of the WB series The Bedford Diaries in early the year 2006. The following season, she played a recurring character on NBC's television show Kidnapped. In 2016, McDonald was nominated for the fourth Emmy award for her appearance on HBO's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, a special film. She starred alongside Taylor Schilling and Steven Pasquale in The Bite a six-episode pandemic-themed drama produced with Spectrum Originals and CBS Studios in 2021. McDonald, who first appeared in the CBS show The Good Wife as a legal actress The Good Wife as U.S. attorneys Liz Lawrence and Liz Reddick between 2009 and 2018, reprised these role (now known as Liz Reddick) in The Good Fight as the Paramount+ season regular. McDonald has been nominated for the three Critics Choice Award awards. She is currently a guest star in Julian Fellowes' historical drama The Gilded Age, which airs on HBO.
