The achievements of Maureen FitzSimons as a young performer in America (which is known as Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the child-prodigy category. However, for a child of Irish background, surrounded by talented parents and a loving family, they had innate talents. Maureen arrived in this nurturing haven, August 17, 1920. She was raised by her parents and family members. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was a contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also owned a part of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons' first FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen did well in sports and enjoyed playing rough sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural gift of performing. Her winning of almost all Feis prizes for her own country's drama and theatre performances is a testimony to this. When she was 14, she had been admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study operatic singing and classical theater.
